The Pearl Chamber of Commerce held a ribbon cutting ceremony Thursday for Keychains & More -- a new store is in the Heart of Pearl Shopping Center on Bierdeman Road.

It specializes in local handmade items such as picture frames, jewelry and candles.

The Pearl Chamber of Commerce recently hosted a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting celebration at the new Essence Nails & Spa in Pearl.

The new spa is located at 424 Roberts St., in the Bright's Shopping Center behind Trustmark Bank.

Winter Wonderland in Brandon

WLBT's Walt Grayson and Barbie Bassett will be signing their new books at the event.

Walt will sign his book from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Barbie from 11 a.m.

Tablets serve computer needs for on-the-go users

Tablet computers burst into the technology market a little less than two years ago with the launch of Apple’s iPad tablet. The iPad tablets account for nearly 80 percent of the tablet market, but other manufacturers, like Amazon, Motorola, Samsung and Toshiba, are introducing their newest version of the tablet just in time for the holiday season.

Tablet computers are larger versions of smart phones and slimmed down versions of home laptops. In addition, tablets can serve as digital cameras.
