Brandon woman celebrates 102nd birthday | People

Dolly Webb of Brandon celebrated her 102nd birthday Saturday.
Webb was born on Feb. 11, 1910 in Mountain View, Mo. She weighed just 3 pounds.
At the time, babies that size usually didn’t survive so Webb wasn’t even given a name.
“They just called her the Doll,” said Webb’s daughter Chris Webb Sanders.
However, when Webb started school her name was changed to Dolly.
Webb had eight children -- five lived to be adults and the two youngest are still living. Webb moved to Brandon to live with her youngest daughter nine years ago.
Sanders said one of her mom’s favorite stories to tell is how her older sisters talked about the sinking of the Titanic. Webb says people talked about it for years.
Webb also talks about how she and her brother Bud, who lived to be 93, always ate oatmeal for breakfast while their other siblings ate cereal. Bud and Webb outlived the other siblings.
Old age apparently runs in the family -- Webb’s grandfather lived to be 107, Sanders said.
