Brandon residents asked to refrain from watering yards

BRANDON, MS (WLBT) - The City of Brandon is asking residents to refrain from watering their yards due to a waterline break.

Mayor Tim Coulter said due to dry conditions and shifting soil a "major waterline break occurred" Tuesday. The break has been repaired, but the city says it will take many hours to replace the water in the tank.

Residents are asked to refrain from watering their yards until noon Friday to help the city build its reserve.

Also, the use of fireworks is banned within the city limits of Brandon during the holiday.
