Officers from the Pearl and Jackson police departments took Bill Kenneth Sanders into custody Thursday morning at a house on Eastview Street in west Jackson.
He is now charged with aggravated assault in Tuesday night’s shooting of Tiffany Bracey at the Rankin Square Apartments in Pearl, according to a press release from the Pearl Police Department.
Sanders was immediately arraigned in Pearl Municipal court where his bond was set at $1 million. He reportedly waived his preliminary hearing and gave a full statement of his involvement in the shooting. He will be transported to the Rankin County Jail after court
Bracey is recovering at University Medical Center where she is listed in fair condition.
Bracey, 22, and Sanders, 31, a maintenance man at the apartment complex were reportedly arguing about something Tuesday night.
Witnesses told investigators that Bracey threw a chair from the balcony of her apartment striking Sanders in the head. Sanders reportedly left and returned a short time later with a gun. He is said to have fired several shots at Bracey with one hitting her femoral artery.
Sanders reportedly fled the scene before officers arrived. Bracey was transported to University Medical Center where she underwent surgery early Wednesday morning.
