2 injured Pearl officers to have surgery, benefit planned | Community Spirit

PEARL, MS (WLBT) - Two Pearl police officers who were injured in the line of duty this month are having surgery at University of Mississippi Medical Center Friday.
Detectives Dave McCarley and Shawn Terwilliger were injured May 1 in the shooting that killed Detective Mike Walter.
According to Butch Townsend with the Pearl Police Department, funds are being raised to help McCarley and Terwilliger with medical bills.
Friday, May 18, there will be a chicken plate benefit for the two men. Crawfish will also be available.
The benefit will be at Mack’s Cool Fuel Mart and the Crawfish Barn at 3180 Highway 80 E in Pearl, across from Walgreens.
The event will last from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. The cost is $7 per plate.
Mack’s Cool Fuel Mart and Crawfish Barn will donate 10 percent of sales Friday to the officers. Donations will also be accepted.
